Julia joined Opwall in April 2022 as finance officer, working 3 days per week. In a previous life, she studied geography and forestry, went on an expedition to Uganda (not with Opwall, as it hadn’t started) and worked in forestry research at Bangor University and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. After moving to Lincolnshire for family reasons, she picked up finance skills whilst volunteering for various charities and decided to study for the AAT qualification. She helps to run a community woodland near Lincoln and her happy place is getting away from a computer and involved with the practical tasks.
