Emma grew up on a dairy farm in Cheshire and has always had a strong passion for nature, the outdoors, and travelling! Her first experience with Opwall was in 2017, when she went to Indonesia as a research assistant. This was where she first learnt to dive and completed her Open Water course on Hoga Island, which sparked her love of diving and the underwater world! During her time at university, Emma studied in New Zealand for a year. Here, she focused on marine biology and science communication, cementing her interest in conservation biology. After graduating from Durham University in 2020 with a BSc in Biological Sciences, Emma travelled to Gozo to complete her Divemaster. A 3-month internship turned in to an 18-month adventure, during which time Emma gained her Open Water Instructor qualification. She thoroughly enjoyed being in the water every day, sharing the wonders of the underwater world with her students. Emma left the Mediterranean life behind and came back to the UK where she was offered a full-time position with Opwall in 2022. She is now working in the sales team and is incredibly excited to be heading to Dominica this season to work as the marine site manager.
