I participated in the Madagascar trip from the 4th to the 21st of July and it was probably one of the best experiences in my life so far! I came into the trip very excited and a little anxious but left Madagascar feeling fulfilled and I was actually quite sad when I stepped foot back into Milan. Although the initial 14 hour bus rides were overwhelming, they still allowed for us to bond with each other and were quite useful as our guides would often engage us with facts about Madagascar.

The terrestrial week was extremely tiring but worth it as we saw animal species we would never see anywhere else as they were endemic to Madagascar which was incredible. Also, the guides would often take us on activity walks where we would actually be helping to record data. My favourite walk was probably the one for nest mitting as I held a bird in my hand!

The marine site was completely different from the terrestrial site and even more enjoyable. Scuba diving was exhausting but we had so much fun while doing it. It was also a little more relaxing as we had more free time between lectures and actually scuba diving to collect data which was a great way to socialise.

The staff are incredibly nice and always ready to help and this reassured us a lot. I would recommend this experience over and over again to everyone and would go back on it!
